Panzura Edge Gateway Enables Secure File Sharing and Collaboration

Panzura, a leading provider of global cloud file services, has introduced the Panzura Edge Gateway, a solution that allows users to engage in file sharing and collaboration on their mobile devices. This Edge Gateway is an extension of the company’s CloudFS global cloud file services product, which is built on AWS.

With the Panzura Edge Gateway, file data is stored in AWS in immutable object form. The platform also provides analytics and governance data services, as well as access applications known as Smart Apps. These Smart Apps enable data access, collaboration, and monitoring. Additionally, the Edge Gateway offers features such as isolated multi-company file sharing zones, content search, ransomware protection, and the management of security and intellectual property on mobile devices.

According to Don Foster, Panzura’s Global Head of Sales Engineering, the Panzura Edge Gateway is a game-changer for organizations that need to share data with authorized partners while ensuring data control and security. With the Edge Gateway, users can collaborate using their mobile devices across multiple locations worldwide, securely sharing files stored within CloudFS.

Notably, Panzura Edge can be hosted on-premises or in the cloud, catering to the file access and collaboration needs of various users, including C-Suite executives, IT managers, and business users. The latest release of the Edge app enables file access on smartphones and tablets, empowering employees and trusted partners to collaborate seamlessly within the CloudFS environment without the need for exporting or making copies of files.

Data security is a priority for Panzura, and they have implemented password-protected file sharing, two-factor authentication, and encryption to ensure the safety of shared files. The system also offers management facilities such as limiting downloads, expiring shares automatically, and anonymous file uploads.
